Here’s a few things you can do to add a little more fun when your out playing with friends, feel free to comment any of your own additions to the game!
Disc Humping
When your disc lands on top of a friends disc at any point in the game other than when the discs are in the basket, you owe that person $5. It happens more often than you think, especially when you’re all throwing for chains. This can make for some pretty intense moments, watching discs roll their way towards yours. You think you just became $5 richer, but it rolls just next to it… It’s fun to see happen especially when everyone is watching.
One time the crew had four discs all roll one on top of the next. In this case, you can decide who pays who, but the one on the bottom gets the loot.
Pocket full of Mullies
Here, the rules are simple. You are allowed multiple mulligans, but you only have as many as you can carry. For every beer you bring with you on the course you get a mulligan. Seems easy enough, right? Wrong. See, there’s a catch… there’s always a catch. In order for that beer to count as a mulligan, you need to shotgun said beer. A little short term advantage for a possible long term sacrifice. Let’s just hope you don’t need as many mullies as you brought beer, or you handle your alcohol like John Daly on the course.
Shoe Toss
If you totally whiff your drive and you think you can throw your shoe farther than your original drive, you are allowed to try. If successful, you are allowed to take a second drive. You are now forced to finish that hole without the shoe that you threw. If you don’t get your shoe farther than your original drive, well, then you’re a terrible judge of distance.
CTP
CTP or Closest To Pin is a fun way to gamble on each hole. Everybody wages a certain amount of money, it could be as simple as a dollar each, or if you’re all single with disposable incomes, make it $5. Better yet, $20. Put your money where it has no business being, where your mouth is. The person with the disc closest to the pin receives the pot. You can play this on any hole, or save it for the more difficult shots and wager a little more.
